From 27 to 30 March 2017, teachers from A New Direction's Special School network will be leading an assortment of visual arts, music, soundscape and drama activity with their students, with Rauschenberg being a big inspiration.

During the week, Studio Wayne McGregor will take the students on an exploration of the space and their own physicality through dance and movement.

The space will be open each afternoon for you to come and find out more about the work and the schools.

Throughout the week you will also have the opportunity to:

  • Take part in a dance workshop led by Studio Wayne McGregor
  • Join The Vale Special School band
  • Watch a dance performance by St Giles Special School
  • Discuss and debate the issues and opportunities around access to the arts for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Discover more about London’s creative and cultural offer for young people with SEND

This event is programmed by A New Direction and Studio Wayne McGregor, Tate Exchange Associates.

Together we aim to raise the profile and visibility of London Special Schools and celebrate the creative work of their teachers and students.
