A New Direction delivers training, mentoring, career support and advice, events and networking opportunities for diverse and talented young creatives in London – connecting them to the best employers and opportunities in the cultural, creative and digital industries.
Our programmes include Creativity Works, Flipside, Royal Docks and Moving On Up: Makin' Moves. We also run a website called Create Jobs – where young people can find jobs and opportunities shared by employers across London's cultural sector, creative and digital industries.
We operate the Good Growth Hub in east London, where we deliver a range of programmes in-person, including Creative Connect (careers advice & support), Creative & Cultural Opportunities Programme(pre-employment), and STEP(paid traineeships).
We also run regular events online and in-person, and host community takeovers in our space. These include interactive craft-making, problem-solving or collaborative workshops, networking opportunities, screenings, and open hub sessions. To support our growing freelancer community, we run events series' responding to in-demand topics (from funding workshops to mixers) as part of Freelance Exchange and Freelance Survival Guides.
Since 2011, A New Direction has delivered its Employment and Skills programme under the name 'Create Jobs', this is probably how you know us. However, from January 2022 we will no longer be using the Create Jobs name or logo in this way.
Instead, we will simply use 'A New Direction' when we talk about our organisation and team, and our 'Employment & Skills programme' when we talk about the work.
The Create Jobs brand itself will continue in a new way online, becoming our exciting new online platform for networking members of our alumni with opportunities, employers and their peers.
Create Jobs is a free website sharing jobs and paid opportunities from across London's cultural, creative, and digital industries. The platform is designed to connect young people – many of who have completed one of our skills bootcamps – with the best creative employers London has to offer.
Whether you’re looking for a full-time role, a freelance opportunity, an apprenticeship or an internship, Create Jobs is your one-stop shop.
The platform allows you to filter and search by industry and type of opportunity, and you can set up email alerts to ensure you don’t miss out.
If you're currently recruiting for a paid junior or mid-level role in the creative, cultural, digital or tech sectors and would like to share it with our network of diverse, creative young Londoners, post your listing for free on the Create Jobs platform.
Please note: we don't believe in free work and know exposure doesn't pay the bills. That's why we only list roles paid at London Living Wage or above.
