Co-construction of Learning
A case study exploring examples of creative projects which supported young people to guide school change through 'co-construction'.

This essay focuses on schools in the Change School Programme (a three year Creative Partnerships programme that embeds creative working in schools to support an element of school change), and builds on those examples of practice discussed in a previous publication called Young People Taking the Lead (Hannah Wilmot, 2008). The projects explore young people guiding a change in their school through 'co-construction'.
The change outcomes focus on learning and increased participation in the operational aspects of school, from lesson structure, to curriculum development and assessment, to redesigning the school library.
