1. Write a to-do list for the day, I know it’s easier said than done but it’s so important to know what you need to achieve for the day and setting goals. Don’t you just love that satisfaction of ticking off tasks!

2. Turn your social notifications off during work hours stop checking your notifications every time –focus is key

3. Eat the frog... not literally, but Mark Twain an American writer once said that:
‘’If it’s your job to eat a frog, its best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, its best to eat the biggest one first’’
The frog is that one nasty thing you have on your to-do list that you have no motivation to do and that you’re most likely to procrastinate on, we’ve all been there!

Eating the frog means just do it, otherwise, the frog will eat you meaning that you’ll end up procrastinating all day.

4.Take breaks, whether it’s a tea break, going to get a cheeky biscuit or going for a walk, coming away from the screen/task and starting afresh.

5. Make the work achievable, it’s so easy to say yes especially when you want to make a good impression but try not to take on too much. It’s so important to set boundaries and employers will respect this.

Some phrases to try out:

“Can you please help me to identify the priorities”

“I am working towards a deadline with this project, I will have the capacity to manage this task after (insert date)
