A partnership project between Columbia Primary School, Savinder Bual and Green Lions, 2006.

This teaching resource is the outcome of an exemplar project by Columbia Primary School in East London, working with filmmaker Savinder Bual and Green Lions to integrate creativity through film practice into the teaching of all curriculum areas.

The change in the way the curriculum was to be delivered came out of an understanding that film can be an effective tool for learning. The resource aids teachers in incorporating film into all aspects of classroom activity, from enabling pupils to operate cameras, perform and edit, to employing film to support pupil assessment and encouraging pupils to critique and discuss each other's progress.

Copies of the Filmmaking Toolkit are available on request and are not free to download from this page. While the file contains advice for teachers using film in classrooms, please note that this resource is specific to Columbia Primary School and ownership rests between the school and creative practitioners.
