This essay describes three effective partnership projects delivered in two primary schools and one FE College during 2006/7. The outcomes of these partnerships were primarily creative productions such as students' performances or sharing events.

The real challenges of working collaboratively are discussed, along with the outcomes of successful partnership work from the perspectives of artists, teachers and school leaders.

Ingredients for successful partnership include establishing shared expectations and goals, investing time in effective planning, recognising difference and expertise, and maintaining good communications.
