In the latest of her monthly pieces for TES, Maggie Atkinson takes a close look at both the Cultural White Paper and the government's "Life Chances" agenda and advocates for the role that culture and the arts can have in improving the lives of young people.
"Partnerships and collaborative working, both between schools and between them and other organisations, may offer useful means through which the multifaceted barriers concerned could start to be addressed." she writes. "But we need to ensure the voices of all of those involved working to increase both equity and people’s access to arts and culture are heard."
