It's been an exciting week full of activity on Twitter as over 300 museums, galleries and cultural institutions from across the UK came together to celebrate creativity, history, culture, arts and heritage.

Museum Week

More than 300 museums, galleries and cultural institutions from across the UK have come together on Twitter for the first ever Museum Week. New studies on busking and public funding impact added to Mayor’s cultural strategy for London

The Mayor of London has unveiled his updated cultural strategy for the capital, which includes commissioning studies on the impact of public investment for culture, and how to better support busking. Read more

Young Songwriter Competition 2014

An exciting platform for aspiring young songwriters to have their songs heard by industry professionals, with a chance to release their own single. The competition is open to 7-18 year olds across the UK and Ireland. Read more

From page to stage

The National Centre for Circus Arts has launched this literacy project for young people aged between 6 – 16. This year they are looking for creative writing submissions to inspire their 2014 production in July. For more information go here or download the PDF below.

Jamaica Hidden Stories showcase

Young people from diverse communities will be given a platform to showcase what they have learnt at the Jamaican Business Language and Marketing workshops, held at Rich Mix from 7th-16th April. Full Spectrum Productions has been working with enthusiastic young volunteers (18-25) to take part in creating their own unique Jamaican brand. Read more

Second International Teaching Artist Conference (ITAC2)

An event that brings teaching artists together in Brisbane, Australia for three days, to activate its potential as a global movement. ITAC 2 is built upon demonstrations of practice and TED-talk style keynote provocations from around the world. Teaching artists will also have the opportunity to lead activities with young people at the renown Out of the Box Festival. Read more
