Day 6: Candice Mante

23 Days of Reasons to be Cheerful: 'An Ode To My Father'

6 March 2020

Creativity Works: Content Production is a collaboration between Create Jobs and 4Creative at Channel4 to provide 23 budding content producers aged 18-24 with the skills and professional development they need to break into the creative industries.

Over seven weeks the group took part in workshops, interactive talks and mentoring from industry leaders like Tim & Barry, Untold Studios, Black Shuck Films, Somesuch, Factory Studios, ITV and Framestore plus many others to hone their talents and techniques.

Throughout the programme, participants developed filmed creative responses to 4Creative’s brief, ’Tell us about something that makes your life better, your community better, London feel better, the world feel better... or just makes you laugh.’

Collectively titled ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’, the 90 second films - shot entirely on mobile phones - are those responses. Together they show the perspectives and expressions of a generation of film producers and content makers at the vanguard of London’s creative scene.
