As part of Creativity Works: Visual Storytelling, we're highlighting each of the photographers who took part

What Is Your London?

For many, the idea of London conjures up postcard pictures: the London Eye, Buckingham Palace. However, these depictions of the capital that we’re used to seeing in the media, advertising and the press are outdated. That isn’t the reality for young people living here today. London is nothing without the people that live in it, and each individual has their own story to tell so the participants of Creativity Works: Visual Storytelling were briefed with showing the world what their version of London is, to let the world see their perspective.

This is Filip's London...

Fluid State

Fluid State, focuses on Heather B from INC MGMT, an “inclusive agency with a focus on representing POC & LGBTQIA+ identifying people.” This is one part of a broader, long-term project examining understandings of fluidity within London’s LGBTQ+ community.

Through interviews with various participants, Filip explores the meaning of fluidity and shares multiple perspectives on the queer community, whether within a literal/non-literal sense or through creating a metaphor from it. He depicts this through visual media in order to transport the viewer into a state of understanding and awareness.

Through extensive interviews with members of the community, an empowering and refreshing vision of fluidity arises. A phrase that became a constant throughout his interviews was “freedom of expression”, liberating in the context of using photography as a tool to raise questions about social stigmas.

The Fluid State an ongoing project, currently a year old, that constantly flows around the basis of the LGBTQ+ community.
