What Is Your London?

For many, the idea of London conjures up postcard pictures: the London Eye, Buckingham Palace. However, these depictions of the capital that we’re used to seeing in the media, advertising and the press are outdated. That isn’t the reality for young people living here today. London is nothing without the people that live in it, and each individual has their own story to tell so the participants of Creativity Works: Visual Storytelling were briefed with showing the world what their version of London is, to let the world see their perspective.

This is Faith's London...

Scenes From My London

Until fairly recently, Faith didn’t consider herself a Londoner. She had a transient relationship with this city; often in and out, either staying here on holiday or when it served as a temporary home -a routine part of the transcontinental lifestyle that comes with being educated abroad. Through this project, Faith wanted to create the still images of a movie if her life was portrayed as one.

She has now lived here for two years full-time and both those years have been full of intense self-discovery, experimentation, adventure and change for her.

London is where Faith has been able to address her curiosity about many different aspects of life. She's learned a lot about herself, grown, and started to explore her interest in visual art.

This series is composed of constructed scenes depicting experiences she's had, and aspects of life here that she's become familiar with. The project tells the story of how London, and the journey she has been on here, have shaped who she is today.
