By Charlie Tims, Demos, 2007.

Think-tank Demos was commissioned by Creative Partnerships London East and South to research the educational programming of past Olympic Games and young people's thoughts and expectations about the 2012 London Olympics.

The Biggest Learning Opportunity on Earth serves as an analysis of past approaches to Olympic public programmes and presents a set of recommendations for meaningful learning opportunities for young people in 2012.

This research represents a point of change in Creative Partnerships programming and delivery in London from 2007 onwards, utilising new partnership models and the Olympic theme to make possible a large scale coherent learning experience.

Whilst the recommendations may appear specific to Creative Partnerships London East and South, we believe that the research can provide useful thinking for a wider range of practitioners and commissioners exploring different ways to engage young people in big issues.
