What makes a Good Childhood?  - 22 October 2015

A forum for professionals working with young people.

On Thursday 22 October, Southbank Centre and Barnardo's invite all professionals working with children and young people to join in the conversation. We pose the question 'What makes a Good Childhood?' and welcome teachers, social workers, health and social care professionals and anyone working with children and young people and the arts to share their thoughts on best practice.

A New Direction will be hosting a session at the forum asking 'How can we ensure a cultural offer for all children and young people in care?’ and reflecting on Cultural Capital – the inquiry into inequality of access to culture for children and young people in London.

Staged as part of the WHY festival and inspired by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the forum explores a range of topics, from what those rights really are to how widespread awareness of the international convention is.

If you're a teacher, social worker, health and social care professional or work in the arts with children and young people, come along and join in the discussion, share your experiences and air your views.
