Book your place on the next inlondon event...
Event: Student Voice - Are we listening?
Venue: City Hall, London's Living Room
Date: Thursday 4th February 2010
Time: 4.00pm - 7.00pm
Who is it for: School Senior Management team members
This event will tackle the challenges of student voice and the
practicalities of making it effective. Discussions will focus on themes
such as involving young people beyond the school council and exploring
the concept of students as co-constructors of learning. As a result of
the event an action plan / guidance to getting started will be created
and available for members to download from the IN London website.
This event is part of an exclusive range of events available to member schools of the
inlondon network.
Joining costs £150 for one year, and £250 for two year membership. This entitles you to places on
three inlondon events a year, plus access to exclusive interactive and supporting content on the inlondon webpages.

Speakers
Consultant
Elizabeth Lynch will speak about the development of A New Direction as an organisation and how we are working with young people to influence who we are and how we talk about what we do. Elizabeth was instrumental in the conception of Tower Hamlet’s Summer University, the development of the Roundhouse and more recently Sorrell Foundation’s ‘My Place’ programme.
Arts College Manager,
Jon Nicholls and
students from Thomas Tallis School, a Creative Partnerships Schools of Creativity, will share their approach to using social media as a way to engage students in thinking about creative learning.
Deputy Head,
Judy Gemmell and
five Creative Leaders (year 7 to 10) from Islington Arts and Media School, Creative Partnerships Schools of Creativity, will present their programme to train 40 students to develop leadership skills to equip them with the ability to make lessons more collaborative, creative and exciting whilst still delivering the curriculum.
Lewisham’s Young Mayor,
Jacob Sakil and members from the Lewisham Young Advisory Panel will contribute to a wider panel discussion looking at some of the challenges around selection, representation and adult agendas which frame youth voice programmes.
