Job Description

CREATE Jobs is an employability skills programme which provides work-related opportunities for young people from the Olympic Host Boroughs. The programme aims to bring a new cohort of young people into the creative industries, arts and cultural sector and diversify the workforce. CREATE Jobs is working to establish an integrated programme of opportunities ranging from apprenticeships, traineeships, work experience, mentoring opportunities and careers advice.

The programme is delivered and managed by A New Direction and CREATE who form a unique partnership bringing together the creative industries, cultural and arts sectors to create innovative and lasting change in how young people gain experience and access jobs in the area. The Employment Manager will work collaboratively with both organisations to maximise brokering and partnership opportunities.  We are keen to encourage individuals, who are interested in the arts, have relationships with creative industries and who are entrepreneurial to apply.

To lead this aspect of the CREATE Jobs programme, A New Direction has received funding from the Olympic Park Legacy Company to appoint a fixed term Employment Manager from February 2012 – August 2012.

In the 2012 London Olympic year, at a time of extreme youth unemployment, this role is a rare opportunity for an individual to create real employment legacy and training for young people who reside in East London.

If you are interested in applying to this position, please send a covering letter and CV to createjobs@anewdirection.org.uk by Friday 20 January, 5pm.
