A New Direction is the London development agency for Arts Award, the national qualification that supports young people between 11 and 25 to develop as artists and arts leaders.

Bronze & Silver training
Bronze & Silver training will enable you to
deliver two levels of the award. The day will provide you with an
overview and ethos of the award, an understanding of the key assessment
criteria and the opportunity to meet other professionals who are
planning to run Arts Award.
You will be able to ask questions about
how Arts Award may work in your particular setting and learn how to
move forward with the award. You will be given the Adviser Toolkit which
details what is required at each level.

Gold training
Gold training is for Advisers who have already
attended the Bronze & Silver training and will enable you to deliver
the highest level of the award. Training will cover the key assessment
criteria, explore case studies and examples, and give you the
opportunity to find out how the award would work in your setting.

About Arts Award
Arts Award fosters creative, communication and leadership
skills and helps prepare young people for further education and
employment.
The award is accessible to any young person aged 11-25 and embraces all cultural interests and backgrounds.
Did you know.....

Arts Award is a qualification at three levels (Bronze,
Silver and Gold) offered at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the QCF (Qualifications
and Credit Framework) and is accredited by Ofqual

Young people can achieve an award in any arts or
cultural activity, including technical and support roles such as arts
marketing, stage lighting, web design etc

Arts Award assesses personal creative development and not specific skill level in the chosen art form

Young people create a portfolio in any format to evidence their development

An Arts Award adviser supports each young person to
achieve his or her aspirations. The adviser may be an artist, teacher or
youth worker

Any organisation or individual can register as an Arts
Award centre provided they are linked to a trained Arts Award adviser

Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England
