Blast is the BBC’s youth creativity service. From first-timers to emerging artists, Blast is a powerful and free resource which inspires and supports creative journeys for 13 - 19 year olds.
In July 2009, A New Direction brought BBC Blast to Newham for the first time.
BBC Blast on Tour
- From April to November Blast offers hundreds of free creative workshops across the UK for 13-19yr olds.

- From filmmaking to fashion, beatboxing to gaming – if it’s creative, Blast has got it!
Young people from across Newham took part in workshops at NewVic College (9 & 10 July), and at the BBC Blast truck which hit the Mayor’s Newham Show between 11 & 12 Jly.
