Jubilee Primary and Lauriston Primary Schools

Jubilee Primary and Lauriston Primary Schools, Hackney

We are delighted to become a School of Creativity so that we can continue to develop the amazing opportunities offered by our creative curriculum which prepares our children for a world beyond the classroom. We are excited about the prospect of working with other schools to spread good practice and widen our school community.’

‘We were thrilled to become a School of Creativity. We see it as a recognition and affirmation of the total commitment we have made to creativity over the past twenty years and a fitting development to the incredible opportunities that being involved with Creative Partnerships has provided us to develop the creative curriculum in our school.’

Heather Rockhold, Lauriston Primary School

Jubilee and Lauriston Primary Schools are unique in that they are the only School of Creativity that spans two schools. The two schools have worked together for many years and have a joint commitment to creative learning.

Jubilee and Lauriston Schools have worked incessantly to improve their understanding of and commitment to a truly creative curriculum. They have worked with a range of inspirational and innovative partners, many of whom continue to have a relationship with the schools that goes beyond one project, leaving skills and experiences that can be built on and developed over time, ensuring that the work is firmly embedded into the ethos and values of the schools. Heather Rockhold, Headteacher at Lauriston, ‘we have been able to change and develop the way we work through a series of interlinked projects that have enriched the experiences of staff, children and their families’.

As a School of Creativity, Jubilee and Lauriston are keen to work with parents/ carers and their children to support them in accessing creative opportunities and increase their entitlement to all that London has to offer in the creative arts, helping to build on what the schools do beyond the classroom and develop stronger community links.
