Thomas Tallis School, Greenwich
‘We are delighted to be a School of Creativity. We are excited by the opportunities to share best practice with colleagues across the country. We are also looking forward to sharing the benefits of this status with local people. We want our school to become a School of Creativity in a creative community.’
Rob Thomas, Headteacher
Thomas Tallis started working with Creative Partnerships in 2002, and has developed some very successful long term relationships with the creative and cultural sector. John Nicholls, Arts College Manager says:
‘We have really benefited from the regular opportunities to share ideas with colleagues from other schools. The support, some of it quite challenging, has really prompted us to embrace creativity as the focus of school development, informing much of our thinking about our new school building and the opportunities it will generate.’
As a School of Creativity, Thomas Tallis is hoping to explore the use of new technologies in the mainstream classroom, promote social capital through creative engagement with community partners and develop mechanisms for interdisciplinary creativity.
